Akua Donkor has been spotted in Italy among the entourage of the President, John Mahama
Believe it or not, Ghana’s aspiring presidential candidate, Madam Akua Donkor was in Italy with President John Mahama for a working visit to Italy.
The Founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor was among the government's entourage who gathered at the Ghana day at the Milan Expo 2015 and also at the Rodolfi Pomodoro A Parma Tomato Processing Plant.
Many have questioned Akua Donkor’s presence at such high profile events but the courageous farmer-politician seems unperturbed.
President Mahama paid a working visit to Italy and he was accompanied by the Minister for Trade & Industry Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Minister for Food & Agriculture Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, and Secretary to the President Ambassador Kwesi Quartey.
Ghana has very good diplomatic and economic relations with Italy. With over 118 Italian companies working in Ghana, Italy is ranked the 10th in terms of foreign projects registered in Ghana as at March this year.
Ghana's export to Italy, however, reached almost GH¢2.2billion in 2012, while imports from Italy amounted to GH¢500million. Majority of Ghana's exports to Italy were petroleum products.
