JHS Pupil Remanded For Allegedly Defiling A Primary Two Pupil

An 18-year-old Junior High School pupil Muideen Saibu in Bawku has been arrested for allegedly defiling a class two pupil of Salvation Academy School at Azanga a suburb in the Upper East Region.

An 18-year-old Junior High School pupil Muideen Saibu in Bawku has been arrested for allegedly defiling a class two pupil of Salvation Academy School at Azanga a suburb in the Upper East Region.

The 8 year old victim and the accused both attend schools in the same community.Police Prosecutor Sergeant Samuel Awedaga of the Bawku Police Command, said the complainant is the father of the victim and that on December 9 at about 2 pm, both the victim and the accused had closed from school and on the way home, the accused lured the victim into a nearby bush and defiled her as he Presented the facts of the matter to the court.

Prosecutor Awedaga said during the act, a passer-by saw them and called the father of the victim on a mobile telephone and informed him.  and he later reported the matter to the Police. After reporting the case, the Police issued a medical form to the victim to go to the hospital.

Reports from the hospital indicate the victim had been defiled and so the accused was subsequently arrested and put before court. The accused was remanded by the Presiding Judge of the Bawku Circuit Court Justice Emmanuel Kofi Sunu, remanded the accused into prison to reappear in court on January 5, 2015.
