The Korle Bu Teaching hospital has denied suspending Out Patient Services.

Media reports suggested that the hospital had taken the decision because of lack of house officers.

According to the report, close to 150 house officers who were providing essential services in the hospital have finished their housemanship and have left the hospital.

The Public Relations Officer for the Korle Bu hospital, Mustapha Salifu told Starr FM that the various units are running OPD services to pave way for expansion of the Central OPD.

He said, “The old central OPD of the hospital…is being converted into the emergency medicine department so that we move the surgical medical emergency in there so that they can share resources with the accident centre.”
