Nana Manwerehene added that the Traditional Council can no longer stomach the disrespect shown by Kojo Bonsu who on several occasions failed to honour their invitation to resolve pertinent issues about the Garden City.

“He showed insubordination to the council after his failure to honour several invitations.  We have stomached his gross disrespect for a long time and we no longer enjoy good working relationship with him”, he added.

Background

Kojo Bonsu is reported to have taken a unilateral decision to remove Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng from the Kejetia Market project board without informing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Nana Agyenim subsequently petitioned the Asanteman Council over the matter.

The Council on Monday summoned Kojo Bonsu over the matter but he failed to appear before the Council.

He was however represented by the Regional Minister, Alexander Akon.

It will be recalled that the traders at the Kejetia Market had protested against the Assembly’s decision to relocate them.

Their relocation is meant to pave way for the construction of the Kumasi Central Market.

The traders subsequently requested for an injunction to be placed on the demolition of the Kejetia bus terminal. However, the court dismissed their application.
