Ex-prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi completes community service term for tax fraud

The three-time Italian leader however remains embroiled in several legal battles as a court is due to review his acquittal for paying for sex with an underage prostitute next week.

Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian prime minister has completed his community service term which he served for tax fraud.

The 78-year old has spent 4 hours a week with elderly dementia patients since May last year.

Speaking on his time with the elderly, Berlusconi described the experience as moving, stating that he would continue in his free time.

"The time spent with the sick, with the volunteers, with the health and social workers, has been a moving experience,"  he said.

Berlusconi was once a cruise ship entertainer and had serenaded residents during his sentence.
