Man arrested for carrying gun to police headquarters

According to police sources the suspect, Kwabena Nyarko has refused to disclose the source of the weapon since his arrest on Tuesday.

The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 48-year-old man for attempting to enter the regional police headquarters with a gun.

Reports suggest that Kwabena Nyarko who is a farmer had the concealed the weapon, with three live cartridges, in his pocket.

He demanded to see the regional police commander.

Reports suggest that he wanted to see the regional commander over some protracted chieftaincy dispute between Asona and Asine families at Assin Dansame which worried him.

However, the policemen on duty became suspicious especially because of his conduct.

They conducted a search on him and found the weapon.

According to starrfmonline.com police sources say Kwabena Nyarko has refused to disclose the source of the weapon since his arrest on Tuesday.

He is currently in custody at Cape Coast waiting to be charged.
