A police officer has been battered by some soldiers at Uadarra Barracks in Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
Reports suggest that the Police Officer, name withheld was using a thoroughfare at the barracks to the regional police command. However, the soldiers stopped him and asked to return.

The soldiers argued that, it was late for the police officer who was in uniform to be using the route. But the police officer did not heed their caution and insisted on using the route leading to a confrontation between him and the soldiers
This disagreement made the soldiers beat the police officer mercilessly causing some injuries.

The Ashanti regional police crime officer Peter Baba who confirmed the incident to Accra-based Starr FM said this happened on Monday evening. He added that the police have launched investigations into the matter.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital in the Ashanti region.
This comes across as shocking since a soldier was recently lynched at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region.
