Three police officers have been arrested for allegedly bolting away with GHC3000 belong to four persons in Christian village, a suburb of Accra.
Dressed in police uniforms, they are said to have forcefully taken the money from their victims and absconded in a police vehicle.
The four men captured the number plate of the car they were driving and later reported the issue to the police for redress.
In March, the commander-in-charge of the East Legon Police Station, DSP Emmanuel Basintale, junior police officers and some civilians were arrested in connection with a number of alleged fraudulent gold deals running into several millions of Ghana cedis.
The police officers, according to police reports, connived with seven civilians to defraud some gold buyers.
Also, two police officers and three others were arrested in 2016 for aiding the robbery attack that led to the death of a policeman in Kwame-Danso, near Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo region.
The latest arrest of the three police officers has raised questions about the screening processes used in recruiting police officers.
It will also be recalled that some 200 police recruits were dismissed in February for enrolling with fake certificates and not meeting the required academic qualification.
