A survey by policy think tank IMANI Ghana has revealed that over 50 pre cent of Ghanaians are disillusioned with government and want resources lost through mismanagement and dubious deals retrieved.

Head of Economics at IMANI, Patrick Stephenson, who presented the report at a press conference, said: “It is interesting to see that more than 50 per cent of respondents we spoke to expect the government or whichever government to retrieve resources that had been lost”.

He added that: “If you have to juxtapose this response or these results to the fact that if we have had cases where we are not too sure whether resources have been retrieved by the state for the people of Ghana, it becomes very worrying.”

Based on the finding, he wondered if “politicians are doing the things that citizens are looking for”.
