No Anti-retroviral Drugs For Patients

HIV/AIDS patients may lose their lives due to the shortage of antiretroviral drugs.

The Ghana Aids Commission has stated that the lives of persons living with HIV/AIDS could be in danger due to the shortage of antiretroviral drugs,

The Commission currently needs $7 million by close of today to secure drugs for persons living with HIV/AIDS.

At a roundtable discussion in Accra, the Director General of the Commission, Dr. Angela El-Adas revealed that the Commission has been faced with the challenge due to the loss of about “44 billion dollars in commodities”.

She however attributed the challenges faced to the Central Medical Stores which was gutted by fire destroying millions of Ghana cedis.
