Five cholera cases recorded

The Acting Metro Director of Health Services, Dr. George Mensah is advising the public to be on alert as five cholera cases have been recorded in Accra.

The reported cases have been linked to the unhygienic conditions residents of the flood and fire disasters have been living in.

“We do not want you to be part of the statistics so please…make sure you do the right things,” Dr. Mensah advised when Citi FM and other partners donated to some of the victims in Adabraka in Accra.

Meanwhile, Health Minister, Alex Segbefia, says the ministry is putting measures in place to achieve a cholera-free goal. He advised the public to take preventive actions.

“Because of the nature of the amount of water that has flowed, we should also start planning or taking preventive action for the likes of cholera so that we will not be caught in the same way that we were in the past,” he said on Citi FM.
