The investigator in the GYEEDA case has stated that illegal payments were made without due diligence.
The lead investigator in the Ghana Youth and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) case, Daniella Adu Amankwa, has told the court that the Ministry of Youth and Sports made payments to Chief Executive of Goodwill International Group, Philip Akpeena Assibit without due diligence.
She said per her investigations, Philip Assibit did no work for the payment he demanded from the ministry.
Daniella Adu Amankwa disclosed this when lawyers for Assibit cross-examined her on Wednesday.
She also told the court that apart from the two people undergoing trial no other persons have been tried despite indications that no due diligence was done.
She produced an inventory of all documents taken from Philip Assibit during investigations.
GYEEDA boss, Abuga Pele and Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill International Group, Philip Assibit are facing trial in court for for intentionally causing financial loss to the state during the GYEEDA programme.
