Police arrest 3 robbers posing as taxi drivers

The suspects had bought a taxicab just for robbery operations.

Police in the Ashanti region have arrested three taxi drivers for allegedly robbing unsuspecting passengers who patronize their services.

Narrating the incident, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, said the police on the morning of 28th November received reports that a man was being robbed.

He said the police patrol on duty then made their way to the robbery scene and pursued the robbers, who had abandoned their vehicle and the passenger they had robbed.

The police later arrested them and retrieved a cell phone and an amount of money, which apparently belonged to the passenger.
