Peter Amewu discredits BNI report on galamsey
He said no single person mentioned in the report has come to the attention of the ministry as being behind illicit mining.

“There is no single instance where those names have come up at the ministry in support of illicit mining or that that they are working against us. But if anything of that nature comes up, I will be able to comment on it,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.
“I am not in a position to say that the report is credible. It is those that authored that are in the best position to comment.”
The BNI report accused the Military of providing security for some illegal miners and that the Okyehene’s palace is perceived to behind galamsey in the Eastern Region.

In a statement, the Military has denied sponsoring galamsey.
While the Okyehene has threatened to sue anyone who links him to galamsey. He has also asked the BNI to apologise to him for indicting him in the illicit business.
