IGP in another radical police shake-up

The Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu has carried out another massive transfers and redeployments of senior officers in a bid to improve effectiveness in law enforcement.

Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Yusif Mohammed Tanko, has been moved from the Ashanti Region.

ASP Tanko will now head the Communications Department of the Northern Regional Police Command as PRO.

Also, the Northern Regional Police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, has been moved to Koforidua to head the Communications Department

And ASP Yaw Nketia-Yeboah has been sent to the Ashanti Region to replace ASP Tanko as the PRO.

The notice further announces the redeployment of Superintendent Christopher Quarcoe from the National Headquarters to the Nima District Police in the Accra Region (Greater Accra).

DSP Adolphine Aku Dzansi has been moved from the court Court/TR to the CID legal and prosecutions.

The latest shake up is the third since Mr Apeatu was appointed as the Acting IGP.

His first transfer targeted the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service.

He axed COP Prosper Agblor as the Director-General of the CID to head the Special Duties Department as the Director General.

His Deputy, ACP Dennis Ako-Dem, was also been moved to the Special Duties Department.

His second reshuffled senior police officers such as  COP Kofi Boakye and COP George Dampare to the National Headquarters.
