Bizarre rumour claiming Abedi Pele is dead sweeps twitter

His spokesman, Fiifi Tackie called on Ghanaians to ignore the rumours in a tweet with a 22-second video showing the ex Black Stars footballer working out.

 

The tweets appear to have been sparked by some unknown news website.

While some believed the post, some were more skeptical, calling on users to ignore the false story.

At least two websites ran a report claiming he died after a short illness.

Hours after the death rumour began to gain currency, a Video of Abedi Pele working out was post on twitter to dispel the rmour.

His spokesman, Fiifi Tackie called on Ghanaians to ignore the rumours in a tweet with a-22 second video showing the ex Black Stars footballer working out.

"Ignore the false reports. Abedi Pele is strong and kicking. Here is maestro Abedi Pele working out this evening," he said.

Later on, one of Abedi's son, Andrew Ayew granted a media interview, rubbishing the stroy.

The West Ham United player said his father was well and healthy.

"My dad is alive and very well. He has not suffered from any sickness or illness and has not received any treatment in France. The reports are complete lies and a hoax," Andre Ayew told Ghanasoccernet.com
