One dies in Akosombo floods

Buildings are also reported to have collapsed after they were submerged in the floods, causing many injuries.

NADMO Coordinator for Akosombo, Luv Dusie  has confirmed that   one person has  died in recent floods in  Akosombo in the Asuogyaman district of the Eastern region .

The Akosombo International School was submerged in water up to the first floor, resulting in students staying on the second floors for hours.

The NADMO Coordinator, Luv  Dusie said, “We had to move the students to the second floor of the school. It was not a situation the NADMO team could not handle, but it needed some urgent attention in order to forestall any injuries, especially when students are involved. The students could not move out because the first floor was submerged and we had to move them to the second floor”,  he told Joy News
