Northern regional police PRO ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Pulse.com.gh that “we are taking these things very seriously. We are inviting groups that are linked with political parties it includes Aluta boys and Kandaha boys “

He said over a hundred police and military personnel will be deployed in the Tamale metropolis to ensure no violence erupts at the festival.

The fire festival which is mainly characterized by the display of power has in the past turned violent.

“Just like the previous year and the year before last year where we had some incidents which were very unfortunate.  This year people will keep to the advice that we are given.

“We are looking at some of the hot spots during the celebration of the festival. And we will be having a lot of vehicular and foot patrols.” ASP Tetteh said.
