Two new cholera vaccines to be introduced by government next year  as a way of saying never again will the disease kill more than 150 persons and infected over 17,000 this year alone.

The vaccines namely Shankol and Dukoral would be used to fight the disease in areas where people are prone to the disease especially in Accra.

Speaking at a vaccination workshop in Dodowa, Director of Public Health of the Ghana Health Services, Dr Badu Sarkodie, said the vaccines once administered on someone, could work effectively for up to five years.

He noted that although the World Health Organisation had given the indication of supplying Ghana with about 100,000 vaccines, Ghana had asked for two million doses in its quest to fight it effectively.
