Sir John fires NPP delegates for taking money

Sir John has alleged that the delegates who voted in the NPP primaries were largely influenced with money.

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has launched a scathing attack on delegates in the just ended parliamentary primaries who allowed their decisions to be influenced with money.

According to him, several candidates who were elected to represent the party in the 2016 elections are likely to lose their seats due to their lack of experience.

He has also questioned the marketability of the 22-year-old parliamentary aspirant of the Party for the Kwabre East Constituency, Francisca Oteng-Mensah.

In an interview on Kasapa FM, he said delegates who voted for Oteng-Mensah and a host of others were largely influenced by money.

“Several of the delegates were influenced by money,” Sir John said adding “this could be a problem for the party”.

Sir John noted that the young lady was novice who would need help in appealing to the larger populace.

He said “We will have to train her. She is a novice. We will have to help her even in terms of taking her round to the chiefs and opinion leaders and all that.”
