NDC not relying on NPP wrangling for victory - Deputy Minister

Reacting to claims that the NDC is happy about the recent wrangling in NPP as it is likely to influence the electorates, Honourable Ahin noted that people will vote for NDC based on merit than the happenings in NPP.

The deputy minister for Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi has indicated that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will  not  rely on the incessant confusion within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the 2016 general elections.

Reacting to claims that the NDC is happy about the recent wrangling in NPP as it is likely to influence the electorates, Honourable Ahi noted that people will vote for NDC based on merit than the happenings in NPP.

“The Mahama-led government will win power in 2016 based on merits. We shall solve the major problems in the country and fulfil all our campaign promises to the good people of Ghana. We shall not ride on the back of NPP’s factions and divisions to regain the confidence of Ghanaians”, he stated on Atinka FM’s AM Drive show.

Honourable Ahi, however, stressed on the need for calm within the NPP saying, “There is always the need for a stronger opposition in any democratic dispensation. The NDC is very sad that unfortunate things are happening in the NPP. The development poses a threat to national security. It is our wish that calm is restored in the party. We are not relying on the confusion in the NPP to win power”.
