The 14th edition of the Arthouse Contemporary Art Auction held on May 11 at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Nigeria where a piece by Ghanaian sculptor, El Anatsui's piece, ‘Zata’, sold for N14,000,000 (GHC278,171.68).

The auction also featured artists like Chief Mrs. Nike Okundaye, Diseye Tantuah, Jacqueline Souwari, Taiye Idahor and Peju Alatise.
Anatsui's whose preferred media are clay and wood, which he uses to create objects based on traditional Ghanaian beliefs and other subjects, recently received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement award at the ongoing Venice Biennale, art exhibition.
The next auction has been scheduled to hold in November.
