In a sermon after Eid al-Fitr prayers on Wednesday, Imam Rahim criticized the recent suicide bombing outside the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina, including attacks in Baghdad and Turkey.
He said: “Terrorism is never in Islam, Suicide bombing, inflicting pain on others, killing others is never Islam. It has no basis in Islam, it is never in our religion.”
He continued: “How do you kill if you have liberties with others? Remember those you are killing, they have people who depend on them. You kill ten people, probably they have 100 people who are depending on them. You have inflicted pain on them.”
Quoting Prophet Mohammed, Imam Rahim said “the best of you are those who are best to their people. In other direction, they are those who are best to their family.”
He asked rhetorically “are you best when you kill? Are you best when you inflict pains on other?”
Imam Rahim used his sermon to also charge Muslims to continue with the good deeds they exhibited during the days and night of Ramadan.
He said “let us continue with the good deeds we were doing during the days and night of Ramadan.”
Iman Rahim urged Muslims not to go back to their past deeds or the essence of Ramadan will elude them.
He encouraged parents to invest in the spiritual and secular knowledge of their children.
