The Privileges Committee of parliament has pardoned and discharged Scientist and Lecturer at the School of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Ghana Professor Alex Dodoo over contemptuous comments he made against the house.

He had described the Members of Parliament as ignorant over their comments on an Ebola vaccine trial, which has since been suspended.

The decision to pardon and discharge him was announced on the floor of Parliament, Friday.

Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho accepted the recommendation of the Committee and called on the science professor and other academicians to be circumspect in comments they pass about the House.

Majority Leader Alban Sumana Bagbin acknowledged the plea by academic bodies like the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS), asking them to caution their members on comments they pass about the legislative.
