Organizers of the #Dumsormuststop vigil have secured a new venue for the intended peaceful vigil.

Instead of University of Ghana’s stadium, participants will converge at “ON- THE- RUN” also known as Bonjour on the Legon Presec road towards the old main gate of the University of Ghana at exactly 4pm.

This follows University of Ghana’s statement that authorities were “not aware of, neither has it granted nor is in the process of granting permission to any person or group of persons seeking to organize or hold any such procession or vigil on/or in connection with any such activity.”

In a press release, organizers reiterated that the vigil is non-partisan event which seeks to give an amplified voice to the many Ghanaians who are afflicted by the phenomenon of the current power cuts in the country. They have cautioned all participants to be law abiding in order to ensure a peaceful protest.
