Power minister to explain why "dumsor" is still prevalent

The minister is scheduled to appear before the committee on the 23 of December 2015.

 

The government assurances committee has invited the power minister Kwabena Donkor to answer to why the power crisis is still persisting.

This was is a follow up to a question asked by the MP for Nsawam, Annor Dompreh on when the power crises will end.

Speaking on Citi Fm the chairman of the committee Emmanuel Badzirah said “ours is to find out whether what he has stated or promised has been fulfilled.”

“we want to find out from him if indeed the load shedding will end at the end of the year  or we are to look for something else or look for another messiah to do it.” Badzirah said.

The Power minister will face the committee at a time he has a huge scandal with the Ameri power deal hanging around his work.

The minister had also promised to resign if the power crises do not end by the end of this year. It is sixteen days to the end of the year and the situation is still lingering.

The government assurances committee is mandated to follow up on promises made by government officials ie ministers of states on the floor of parliament.
