Koku Anyidoho has expressed fears the power crisis can cause the NDC lose the 2016 general elections.
According to a Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Koku Anyidoho, the frequent power outages in the country can cost the party lose next year's elections.
He said regardless of the performance by government, the power situation will be a major setback for the party if not resolved.
Koku Anyidoho speaking on Joy FM's Morning Show, said the current power situation is a major worry for the NDC.
The former Communications Director at the Presidency noted that if the NDC was in opposition it would do exactly what the NPP did Wednesday.
“Let us call a spade a spade, this Dumsor is debilitating, this thing is killing, it is a crisis. The cascading effect is real and nobody can run away from it,” he added.
Despite President John Mahama acknowledged the toll effect of the crisis, he said “Nobody is sleeping over this energy problem because people are suffering. Do you know the damage that this thing is causing? It is a real thing and not a political issue at all”.
He stated that the erratic power situation will be a major hurdle for the ruling party if it is not fixed before the elections.
