The acrimonious debates and divisions in the opposition New Patriotic Party appears to be deepening.

The outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has accused some members in the NPP of working to destroy the party and also expressed regret for campaigning and voting for the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.

He also accused some members of working to sabotage the party.

He said letters written by the General Secretary granting waivers to some parliamentary aspirants were discriminatory.

Kennedy Agyapong speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosiisen programme said, "So far I've regretted for supporting him."

He said he was surprised at the General Secretary's management style and attitude, especially in taking decisions.

The NPP firebrand added that, he was heckled by some women organizers of the party in London for supporting the candidature of Kwabena Agyapong prior to its National delegate congress.

He also accused the General Secretary of unfairness who called on the National Council to suspend him (Kennedy Agyapong) from the party.

Meanwhile, Kwabena Agyapong has vowed to expose 'evildoers' in the party who want his downfall.

According to him, some hidden faces were trying to sow a seed of rancor among the NPP leadership so that the largest opposition political party’s front would break ahead of the next elections.

“The attacks on me are too much and if they continue to tarnish my image as the general secretary of the party, I will expose them one after the other to the people of Ghana. God knows that I have good intentions for the party and I came to serve.”

"I’m ready to face anyone who wants to destroy my political career. Nobody can do anything to me or destroy my reputation if I’m discharging my duties” he declared.
