The main road is endangered as the whole area is filled with the gas. All vehicles in from Accra to Takoradi has been stopped to avoid danger with a heavy police presence.

A tanker was said to be offloading gas at the station when the leakage occurred.

As a precaution, the station was evacuated and the road was blocked to prevent casualties in case there was an explosion. This resulted in a heavy vehicular traffic on the Inchaban road for about four hours as traffic was at a standstill.
