Andanis determined not to allow Ya Na Abdulai's funeral at Gbewa Palace

This comes in breach of a peace roadmap by the Asantehene Committee of Eminent Chiefs which agreed for the funeral rites to be performed at the Palace.

Gbewaa Palace

Speaking at a ceremony at the forecourt of the Gbewa Palace Friday to mark the 14th anniversary of the demise of their overlord, Ya Na Yakubu Andani, Dabali said "We shall under no circumstance allow the performance of funeral of Mahamadu Abdulai at the Gbewa Palace. To allow this to happen is to reward crime since the reason they forcibly removed Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II from the palace to pave way for the funeral of  Mahamadu Abdulai."

He added that allowing the funeral to be held at the palace will mean glorifying wrong doings. According to him, Ya Na Abdulai was not a chief at the time of his death.

The Abudu Royals in Dagbon in the Northern Region earlier in February this year demonstrated in Yendi Township against the Asantehene led three eminent chiefs committee mediating the Dagbon chieftaincy impasse between the Abudu and Andani royals.

The protest was to reaffirm their call for a speedy implementation of the road map to peace in the area.
