The Central Regional Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers on Wednesday in Cape Coast as part of a crackdown on criminal activities in the region.
They five armed robbers are, Ekow Bentil, 18, Agbovie Mensah, 22, Emmanuel Amoah 21, Ekow Ewusie, 21, and Mustapha Mohammed, 53.

The notorious armed robbers were arrested during a special operation conducted by the police at Nstin, a suburb of Cape Coast.
The Regional Commander, DCOP Reverend Ampah Benin addressing the press said the arrested robbers are part of a gang known to be tormenting residents.
He explained that other suspects, however, jumped into the sea and swam to safety.
He said items retrieved from the suspects included 24 scissors, 10 knives, a hammer, crow bar, chisel, tape recorder, television, instruments used to administer narcotic drugs, 6 lighters and 27 CDs.
DCOP Ampah Benin said the police also found a taxi cab with registration number, GT 5383-12, suspected to have been used by the suspects to steal goats.

One of the suspects by name Ekow Bentil was found in possession of a substance suspected to be narcotic drug.
Meanwhile, all the suspects will be detained until investigations into their operations are concluded.
