Be cautious of the taxis you pick – Police caution Kumasi residents

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has cautioned residents in Kumasi especially women to be very vigilant when they are picking taxis in the evening.

The regional Police Commander COP Kofi Boakye was addressing journalists in Kumasi. He said reports of robbery in taxis are increasing within the metropolis hence the caution.

COP Boakye said the ‘pick and rob’ style of stealing reduced “after we arrested a group of people at Barikese but recently within that past three weeks, it has resurfaced again.”

He advised that passengers pick taxis from only recognised taxi stations

He called on all the pay a little more security cautious by taking note of the taxi numbers of the cabs they pick.
