One suspect arrested for bathing NPP chairman with acid

The police have arrested one person in connection for bathing the NPP Upper East regional chairman with acid.

One person has so far been arrested in connection with the acid attack on the Upper East regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Adams Mohammed.

The chairman was returning from his construction site late in the night when the two unknown men stopped him.

Mahama Adama is currently receiving treatment at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.

Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Police ASP Thomas Agbanyo said,"The seats of his pick-up have all been torn by the acid. He was showered with the acid, from the head through the face to the body and all parts."

ASP Thomas Agbanyo speaking to Adom FM said one person is in the custody of the police.
