Kwabena Agyapong vows to crush 'evildoers' in NPP

Kwabena Agyapong has lashed out at some members of his party describing them as 'evil doers'.

The General Secretary of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described some members of his party as 'evil doers' saying that he will expose anyone who plan his downfall.

According to him, some hidden faces were trying to sow a seed of rancor among the NPP leadership so that the largest opposition political party’s front would break ahead of the next elections.

He observed that some party members are spreading false rumours about him and the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo. He, however, stated that those people were enemies within whose only wish and desire was to see the NPP in disarray, urging his party members to treat the rumours with contempt.

Speaking on an Accra base OK FM, he said, the simmering tensions in the party are part of a grand scheme by some executives to undermine him and the national chairman Paul Afoko.

He attributed the negative publicity and bashing that almost always come after to the activities of such persons, who are bent on painting him black for the own ends.

Though he refused to mention names, he has vowed to expose them if they continue to destroy his reputation.

“The attacks on me are too much and if they continue to tarnish my image as the general secretary of the party, I will expose them one after the other to the people of Ghana. God knows that I have good intentions for the party and I came to serve.”

Kwabena Agyapong disclosed he was informed about the emergency steering committee meeting scheduled for 3pm.

However, he suggested that the meeting should be rescheduled until both he and the party chairman return on Tuesday.

According to him, he made that suggestion because the issues tabled for discussion were not that urgent.

"I’m ready to face anyone who wants to destroy my political career. Nobody can do anything to me or destroy my reputation if I’m discharging my duties” he declared.
