Gabby Otchere-Darko blamed for division in NPP

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has been blamed as the brain behind the divisions in the NPP.

Former Executive Director, Danquah Institute

A former Deputy Communications Director of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Ampong, has blamed the problems confronting the party on the former executive director of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.

According to him, Mr. Otchere-Darko is the main brain behind the divisions that have afflicted the party in recent times.

Speaking on Okay FM's Adi3 akye y3bia programme, he said, “I blame all the things going on in our party (NPP) on Gabby."

“He created the tensions between Kufuor and Akufo-Addo supporters and he knows.

“He and a few people around Akufo-Addo try as much as possible to victimize and stigmatize anyone they suspect to be loyal to Kufour.

"Currently in the NPP, anybody with some kind of respect for Kufuor is seen as a traitor.”

His comments comes at the back of a brewing tension in the New Patriotic Party between the General Secretary KwabenaAgyapong, National Chairman Paul Afoko and some section of the national executives who held an emergency steering committee without the two administrators of the party.

He said the party can only win power in the 2016 elections if people around the flagbearer learn to be more accommodating and tolerant of opposing views.
