Our schools are producing intelligent criminals - Opuni-Frimpong

The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev Dr Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong has said the current curriculum of the Ghana Education Service (GES) is producing intelligent criminals in the society.

He said the system produces smart individuals who steal from the state.

His comment comes at the back of the government’s commitment to return the management of mission schools to religious bodies.

Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong explained that the aim is to strengthen the moral fibre of the society, which he fears is fast declining.

"We are producing intelligent Ghanaian who are smart to take a huge chunk of money which is supposed to go into health, education etc and share among themselves," he said on PM Express on Multi TV.

"Sadly, we are having more of that and it is not only with one political party, but all of them. Contractors under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) are all the same.

"We are not paying much attention to morality in our schools so what that means is that we are producing intelligent criminals," he said.
