Sixty-two percent of Ghanaians have stated that MPs see power as an avenue to amass wealth at the expense of the poor.

Sixty-two percent of Ghanaians have stated that Members of Parliament (MP) use their office to amass wealth for themselves without thinking about their constituents.
The survey was conducted by the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) in 2014 and made known at a press conference in Accra.
According to the NCCE, over 53 percent respondents do not trust in the ability of parliament to safeguard the public interest.
More than 25 percent of Ghanaians noted that, excessive Executive control has affected the efficiency of Parliament.
