Brouhaha Over Ghost Names: CAGD Denies IMANI

The Controller and Accountants General’s Department has denied ever agreeing with Imani Ghana to help draw a roadmap to remove ghost names from Ghana’s payroll system.

In a statement signed and copied to Pulse.com.gh by the Controller and Accountant General, Mrs Grace Adzroe, said “We wish to state categorically that the CAGD did not discuss and agree with IMANI Ghana any roadmap on the management of the mechanized payroll at CAGD.”

The statement clarified that although it met with officials from IMANI Ghana, the meeting was to educate IMANI Ghana on “our business processes so that they would be better informed as they discuss issues relating to the mechanized payroll.”

The statement stated that considering the importance the government attaches to payroll issues, a Cabinet Committee has been constituted which is working with relevant institutions to address the payroll challenges.

The Department assured the general public and other stakeholders that “there are measures being implemented by relevant public institutions to address the payroll challenges.”
