Nayele Ametefeh Appears In Court Today Via Video

Ruby Gyamfi who was busted for allegedly exporting narcotic drugs will face her primary trial in UK court today via video link.

The woman at the centre of the 12.5-kg cocaine scandal Nayele Ametefeh will be appearing in a UK court today.

She is due for preliminary hearing at the Isleworth Crown Court before Judge Edmunds QC at 2pm.

However, information reaching Starrfmonline.com indicates the prime suspect in the cocaine haul will not appear in person but via a video link from the Her Majesty's Prison Bronzefield where she is in custody.

Meanwhile, 12 people have also been arrested in Ghana in connection with the case yesterday. They include the two ladies (Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Sandra) who were traveling with Ametefeh but absconded when she was arrested.

Three public officials who are the Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abiel Ashitey Armah, Theophilus Kissi of the Research Department attached to the VVIP Lounge at the Kotoka International Airport and Abubakar Ahmed, a civil servant have also been charged with abetment of crime; exportation of narcotic drugs, have been remanded in prison custody and will reappear in court on December 11.
