Six people have been confirmed dead in violent clashes in Tuobodom, a suburb of Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The deceased were reportedly shot to death Wednesday afternoon.

Two of them were burnt beyond recognition, the Tuobodom Police Commander Peter Sakyi confirmed. Three houses were also torched in the process with rivals firing gun shots.

The clashes were triggered by an alleged attack on a man last night.

The man who was accused of being a spy went easing himself in a community dominated by a rival ethnic group.

Police and Military have stormed the area to restore calm.
