Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru said the Northern Regional Security Council will meet to decide on permanent security measures in the region.
The Northern Regional Security Council will hold an emergency meeting following a renewed deadly clashes that lasted many hours between two chieftaincy groups in Bunkprugu in the Northern Region.
The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru said the Council will decide on permanent security measures to bring the situation under control.
Two people were killed on Sunday and several houses torched following a renewed clash between Bimoba ethnic groups.
The two, reportedly died from the clashes between the Jamong and the Jafog clans (both Bimobas).
The deceaseds have been identified only as a male teacher and a businessman.
Their remains have been deposited at the Baptist Medical Centre in Nalerigu.
However, Security patrols have intensified in the township and its environs to prevent any spillover.
Residents are however living in fear as a result of the incident.
