Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho said the Gambia Parliament has a lot to offer other Parliaments. He particularly praised their Public Accounts Committee.

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has impressed upon Gambia to reconsider its decision of opting out of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.Gambia withdrew from the commonwealth two years ago.He says Gambia's presence in the Association is invaluable and so staying out of it reduces its strength.Mr. Adjaho said this when the Head of the Gambian National Assembly Abdulie Bojang paid a courtesy call on him.Accompanying Mr. Bojang was the Executive Director of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Rashid Draman.

He particularly praised their Public Accounts Committee.Before receiving the Gambian delegation, the Speaker granted audience to the outgoing Cuban Ambassador, Jeorge Lefebne Nicolas.Ambassador Nicolas has worked in the country for four years. He asked that Ghana continue supporting Cuba to better its relationship with the US.He said the strain in US-Cuba relations has adversely affected Cuba's economic development and so counted on Ghana's continuous advocacy for the US to restore its bilateral relations with Cuba.Source: GBC
