Pollster Ben Ephson says that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is likely to win the vacant Talensi seat in a by-election.

The Talensi seat has been declared vacant by the speaker of parliament following the instalment of its occupant Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore as the Paramount Chief for the Tongo Traditional Area.

Mr. Ephson explains that the NDC stands a good chance of winning the vacant because it is a safe seat for the party. According to him, the NDC lost the seat in the 2012 elections because of some internal wrangling that hit its leadership in the constituency.“The NDC is most likely to win the seat in a by-election. It was an obvious seat for them in 2012 but for some internal wrangling that hit its executives which allowed Mosore to sail through but anyone who has studied the political dynamics of the constituency will know that it is a safe seat for the NDC if it puts its acts in order,” he said on Starr FM’s Morning Starr.
