Crystal Concepts, the company which branded the 116 public intra-city buses with pictures of President John Mahama and other former presidents has said it is shocked about the figures being quoted by government in relation to the contract.

According to the company, it feels cheated in the whole contract as it only charged GH₵11,600.00 as labour cost for rebranding all the 116 buses.

But, Manager of Crystal concept, Kwaku Mensah Abeiku has told Accra-based Adom FM, that he is shocked about the amount which he said has been inflated.

“I was shocked when I heard the price so I feel we have been cheated. The prices on the Pro-Forma invoice are outrageous,” he said.

He added that they charged only GHȼ100.00 for the labour cost for stickers on each bus and not GHȼ2,000.00 as indicated on the Pro-Forma invoice by Smarttys Management and Production.

The revelation of the cost of the buses in the 2015 Annual Report on the Petroleum Revenues Fund has led to public debate with Parliament also asking for further answers on what led to the high cost.

Pulse.com.gh revealed that Smartyys Productions and Management is the company that executed the branding of 116 Bus Rapid Transit Buses(BRT) to the tune of GHS 3,649,044.

It has emerged that a pro-forma invoice dated 17th July 2015, and signed by the Accounts Officer of Smarttys Management and Productions and copied to the Ministry of Transport, put the total cost of branding for each bus at Ghc30,420.00.
