Parts of Bolga Municipality in the Upper East region were on Wednesday flooded after hours of rain.

The torrential downpour destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis, with farmlands being the worst hit.

The rains also submerged some houses, making movement impossible. Work and classes were also disrupted due to the downpour.

Many have called on NADMO authorities to come to the aid of victims by providing them with relief items.

But, the Municipal NADMO Coordinator, Timothy Anaab said his outfit is in touch with NADMO authorities in Accra to provide them with some relief items.

“As at now, we don’t have any relief items in our stores,” he told Accra-based TV3.

“We are in touch with the Regional NADMO coordinator, and we are putting things on the ground to see whether we can get relief items for the victims. The Municipal Assembly is also making efforts to get buffer stock. We are still doing an assessment on the ground,” he added.
