President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the election of Ghanaian diplomat, Ambassador Kwesi Quartey as Vice Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission at the ongoing 28th AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopa.

Ambassador Kwesi Quartey was the former Secretary to ex-President John Mahama in the NDC administration.

He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration under the NDC.

Nana Addo in a tweet said "Great news for Ghana. Our very own Ambassador Kwesi Quartey has just been elected as Vice Chair of the AU Commission."
