NDC MP robbed by gunmen

Some unknown persons on Monday robbed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti Region, Alex Adomko-Mensah at gunpoint.

The three suspected robbers, who were wielding guns and knives, forcibly took away valuables of the MP, including an amount of GH¢5,000, iPad and iPhone, among others.

The MP was travelling from Kumasi to Kumawu around 6:40 pm in his vehicle when the incident occurred.

The Sekyere Afram Plains MP told the Daily Guide newspaper on Tuesday that the suspected robbers crossed his vehicle around a sharp curve in a town called Akotosu on the main Kumasi to Kumawu road.

He said the robbers after taking away his valuables rushed into their salon car and sped off towards the Effiduase direction.

The case has since been reported to the police, but they are yet to make any arrest.
