Mahama, Rawlings and Kufuor attend Stephen Appiah Testimonial match

President John Mahama, John Kufuor and Jerry Rawlings have attended the testimonial match to bid farewell to Stephen Appiah

 

As Stephen Appiah announceshisofficial retirement from the national team, President JohnMahama and two former presidents have attended the testimonial match of ex-Black Stars captain.

John Kufour and Jerry Rawlings attended to bid farewell to Stephen Appiah who is calling it quits after close to three decades of professional football.

Stephen Appiah’s Testimonial match saw some of the world’s biggest names in the sport including Samuel Eto descend on the Accra Sports Stadium for the send off.

Earlier Asamoah Gyan, donated $60,000 at fund-raising dinner to Stephen Appiah.

Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto’o also pledged  $50,000 at the event.

Appiah's former team mate at Cesena, Guissepe Colluci also donated $10,000 at the fund-raising dinner ahead of the testimonial match.

Football icons, Gyan, Eto'o and Colluci, were all given signed balls and framed jerseys from Stephen Appiah.

Ghana Football Association(GFA) officials, former black stars players and a delegation of celebrities were present to support the Stephen Appiah.
