Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the president of NAGRAT, Addae-Poku said "We are stating the realities on the ground. Since our minister came into office teachers were so happy to see our own, that is somebody who has been a teacher herself and actually has trained teachers. We were expecting her to be able to appreciate our problems better and solve them."
According to him, "all her [Minister] concentration has been on supervision. Yes supervision is important but that is not all that is needed to be able to provide results.
"The threats are not the best way to deal with adults. We are all adults. There is a better way to deal with us than to always go on radio and say that I will sack you and demote you when you know that there are more problems causing the downfall of education than just poor supervision," Mr Addae Poku added.
The Association made these comments to buttress its call for a strike action if government fails to pay them their outstanding arrears by February 29, 2016.

Government had earlier agreed with NAGRAT to pay the outstanding salary arrears, car maintenance allowances and transfer grants by June 13, 2015.
But NAGRAT has indicated that government has failed to meet the deadline of payment, adding that they will no longer accept any roadmap for payment now.
