Nana Addo Danquah was laid in state as part of the tradition of the Akuapem people for family members and sub-divisional chiefs to pay their last respects. He was installed the paramount chief of the Akuapem Traditional Area in 1974 at the age of 44 and reigned continuously for 35 years.
There will also be a thanksgiving service on Sunday, February 7, and final burial rites on Monday, February 8, at the forecourt of the Okuapehene’s Palace in Akropong.
